Richmond to compel contractor to rebuild accidentally destroyed wall

More than eight months after the city of Richmond began investigating the destruction of a pre-Civil War brick wall on city property that once ringed the Tredegar Iron Works, it says it will make a Hanover County contracting company rebuild the wall at its own expense.

The persistent mystery prompted the Oregon Hill Neighborhood Association and Better Government for Richmond, a watchdog group that has repeatedly requested any existing police reports on the matter, to call for a more thorough review of the wall’s destruction. Link
